    Mid Winter Feaste

    Friday, August 29, 2008, 07:38 AM [General]

Ya, ya, I know, it's only the end of August, but two days ago I was given the green light to start planning this years renaissance dinner for January at the country club where I work. This past January saw our first attempt at such, which went far better than we could have hoped for, with only 2 empty seats for the evening. This year we will be changing things up, though I am not yet sure exactly what we are going to do. One thought is a Venetian menu for something different. Only time will tell.

    Weekend Adventure

    Monday, August 18, 2008, 10:24 PM [General]

This past weekend Reggie and I were fortunate enough to join our friends the Scallwags (great pirate show if you get to catch them!) on a journey to Arkansas, where we got to take part in the ABC show "Extreme Home Makeover", what a blast! It seems that the young son, who suffers childhood lukemia, is a pirate fanatic. Ourselves and a few other highseas entreprenuers were recruited to do the demolition of the house. I think we might have scared Ty just a little with all of the swinging of swords, axes, and other emplements of destruction. The crew were fantastic to work with, and it was well worth the 8 hour drive. And yes, I'll be posting pics as soon as I get them.

    Time doth fast approach!

    Thursday, August 7, 2008, 09:07 AM [General]

I can smell it in the air, FAIRE! It has been since April that I walked the lanes, strolled the shops, and reveled in our madness. KC faire looms ahead as a beacon of hope in a landscape of despair. Sharpen your swords my kinsmen (and women) for Canterbury shall soon be ours!

    ahh, memories

    Monday, June 30, 2008, 12:31 PM [General]

Going through the photo album of faires gone by, I just had to post a few for the friends who will remember these days. Probably the picture of note would be of me in renaissance drag. Unfortunately I don't have the picture of Reggie to match it, but we were both dressed as the ugly sisters as part of  skit for our fencing group. I did have a pretty nice rack, if I do say so myself!

Last fall we planted lilly bulbs around the flower beds, I guess that it was worth it.
